Michel LAZARE, Sous- Directeur du Département Afrique du FMI, a été reçu, samedi 23 mars, en audience par le président ivoirien, Alassane Ouattara.
A sa sortie d’audience, M. LAZARE a souligné que le but de la mission est de faire la 3ème revue du Programme Economique et Financier (PEF) triennal 2012 – 2014, soutenu par la Facilité Elargie de Crédit (FEC), mis en place depuis le mois de Novembre 2011. Il a, en outre, indiqué avoir rendu compte au Chef de l’Etat de l’avancée des travaux de la mission et recueilli ses avis.
Pour lui, les premières impressions sur l’état de l’économie ivoirienne et ses perspectives sont bonnes; car il y a eu « une bonne année 2012 avec notamment une bonne croissance, une croissance plus importante que celle qui était prévue lors de la dernière mission. »
Cette embellie économique aura donc des effets positifs, notamment pour les citoyennes et les citoyens ivoiriens et engendrera plus de revenus, plus d’emplois et plus de moyens pour lutter contre la pauvreté, a-t-il ajouté.
Par ailleurs, le Sous-Directeur du Département Afrique du FMI a constaté des avancées importantes en matière de réformes, notamment celles de la filière café-cacao et aussi un certain nombre de réformes pour améliorer le climat des affaires et faciliter l’engagement du secteur privé pour soutenir la croissance en Côte d’Ivoire.
