Après avoir ramené son déficit budgétaire de 12,9 à 9%, le Ghana compte lancer bientôt un eurobond, selon les déclarations de son vice président, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, à l’agence Reuters,le 16 mai 2013. Le timing paraît favorable dans un contexte de faible rendement pour les obligations d’Etat libellées sur 10 ans.
Le papier ghanéen Ghana (pays noté B) pourrait obtenir un traitement similaire que les eurobond du Nigeria (qui compte aussi émettre 1 milliard de dollars sur le marché international) et de la Zambie négociés actuellement à des taux de 5 à 6%. En avril dernier, le Rwanda a émis un eurobond de 400 millions de dollars à un taux de 6,8%.
Pour le Ghana, il ne s’agit pas d’une première. En 2007, le pays avait émis 750 millions de dollars sur dix ans à un taux de 8,5% ramené aujourd’hui à 4,87% sur le marché secondaire de la dette.
