Pour sa troisième édition tenue les 21 et 22 juin 2018, le forum Africa Convergence organisé par le site électronique « Tribune Afrique » est sorti de sa zone de confort casablancaise pour la falaise escarpée de l’hôtel Pullman de Dakar.
Les débats ont été riches et, au delà des thèmes qui expriment l’angoisse de l’heure (stress hydrique), l’éternel défi africain (croissance, chômage et démographie), la très à la mode « innovation technologique », ou encore les contours de la Soft Power marocain, l’événément avait (et c’est ce que nous avons aimé) un caractère plus business que politique.
Le thème général, à prime abord rébarbatif des « Défis de l’Exécution Stratégique en Afrique », a été fort heureusement habillé en couleurs par des conférenciers expérimentés comme Fatallah Sijilmassi,Secrétaire général sortant de l’Union pour la Méditerranée (UpM), face à un auditoire relevé de 300 personnes venues d’un peu partout. Autre intervenant de marque, le philosophe Souleymane Bachir Diagne, professeur à Columbia, qui conseille au Sénégal de ne pas faire « du tout pétrole et tout gaz ».
L’idée de concilier stratèges et exécuteurs, marque de fabrique ce forum, semble avoir réussi au vu de la qualité des interventions. Chef d’orchestre de cette initiative, Abdel Malick Alaoui, patron de Tribune Afrique, de Huffington Post Maghreb et, bientôt, de Wall Street journal Afrique, résume le caractère globalisé de « Convergence Africa »: « Ecoutez je suis marocain, certes, mais comme vous le voyez, les partenaires de l’événement viennent d’horizons divers, de toutes les parties de l’Afrique, mais aussi d’Europe », déclare-t-il.
Au premier rang des partenaires d’Africa Convergences, il y avait la compagnie Corsair représentée par son PDG, Pascal de Izaguirre, qui a déploré la lourdeur bureaucratique du ciel africain rendu difficile par les accords bilatéraux. Sous le regard attentif de Alioune Sarr, Ministre sénégalais du Commerce, du Secteur Informel de la Consommation et des PME et de Mohcine Jazouli, Ministre marocain, délégué chargé de la coopération africaine, cette rencontre de Dakar a rempli ses objectifs d’un dialogue stratégique orienté vers l’exécution et une Afrique intégrée.
«Nous sommes très satisfait du déroulement de cette édition dakaroise d’Africa Convergence et sommes surtout très fiers de l’adhésion des officiels, de nos partenaires et des participants venus nombreux. Cela nous conforte dans notre idée qu’il y a la place en Afrique pour des événements originaux qui adressent les principales thématiques de l’émergence africaine en faisant converger penseurs, patrons et officiels», s’est réjoui au terme de l’événement Abdelmalek Alaoui.
