Centum Real Estate, une filiale de développement immobilier de Centum Investment Company PLC, a annoncé mardi 11 janvier qu’elle va ouvrir son capital à GEM Global Yield, une société de capital-investissement luxembourgeoise.
Ainsi, le groupe d’investissement privé alternatif fournira à Centum Real Estate une facilité de souscription d’actions d’un montant maximum de 17 milliards de shillings (150 millions USD) pour une durée de 36 mois après une cotation publique. Cette facilité devra permettre à la société de prélever des fonds en émettant des actions ordinaires à GEM.
« Centum Real Estate est ravie d’accueillir un investisseur institutionnel mondial du calibre de GEM, qui s’est engagé à faire un investissement en actions très important dans l’entreprise. Il valide l’attractivité de l’opportunité de marché que Centum Real Estate poursuit en fournissant des logements à travers l’Afrique subsaharienne où il existe une demande non satisfaite très importante », a déclaré la société dans un communiqué.
Cotée à la Nairobi Securities Exchange, Centum a dévoilé son intention de vendre ses actions dans sa branche immobilière depuis septembre 2021. La société a récemment consolidé la plupart de ses entreprises immobilières dans Centum RE, comprenant des terrains et des propriétés en cours de développement dans le comité de Nairobi, de Kilifi et en Ouganda.
